Diane Is Out of Crohn’s Prison

Many Crohn’s disease sufferers have told me that it’s like being in prison. They live their lives not knowing when a flare-up will occur, but there is the one certainty:  It WILL happen.  It’s just a matter of time.

They make sure they know where a public bathroom is in every place they go…and many times, they can’t go out at all for fear of an attack.

They take the medication their doctor gave them (typically dangerous steroids) because the doctor says that’s all they can do.

And they pray that they never end up having to have some or all of their intestines removed.  (But the odds are not in their favor–3 out of 4 people with Crohn’s require surgery at some point.)

Yes, that sounds like a type of prison.

But there is a way to break free of the prison of Crohn’s. A safe, easy, natural approach that can make a 100% difference in how you feel.

I’ll let Diane tell you about it—because she ended 30 years of diarrhea from Crohn’s and is “dancing with joy”:

*******************

I want to tell everyone about my great, wonderful, exciting news, as I’m still in complete awe of what has happened to me since I have started using  Your plan!

I have had Crohn’s disease for 39 years.  When I was 26 I had bowel surgery.  They removed my terminal ileum (the lower part of the small intestine) and told me I would have diarrhea for life.

They were right—I did…or better yet, I was lied to. Because I have changed from daily diarrhea to normal bowel movements with your plan!

It started out weird though—it was the first time for me to ever have what I call a normal BM.”  The new changes kept coming (less and less diarrhea) and I thought how did I do this?  To think I spent 30 years with the diarrhea! And now it has only gotten more and more normal as I continue to eat healthy foods with your plan!

I can’t even believe how I was lied to by so many doctors telling me there was nothing I could do but take steroids and other drugs!  They had me scared to death of good healing foods.  Shame on them for taking an oath and not living up to it.

Together we have made a new me!

I want to shout to all the people with Crohn’s, “Stop allowing them to cut out your bowel—it doesn’t cure a thing!”

Believe me, I’m very mad at the medical community for making me so ill for so very very long!

I started researching on my own because they told me Crohn’s was inherited, but going back over 100 years in my family I see no one had this disease other then me.  So they were wrong again.

Food was my enemy all my life, and now it heals me!  You just have to have patience and let the healing begin.

My story seems so amazing to me—it’s like I was blind for 39 years, and now I can see.

”Dancin’ with joy”

Diane

15 Yrs of Prilosec Ended – A Shocking Story

There’s an expression that says, “If you think you have it bad, think again.  There’s always someone worse off than you.”

Here’s Diane’s fascinating story about multiple medical problems and ending 35 years of pain, pills and being a shut-in:

*******************

I am 63 year-old woman who was basically a shut-in as going out was simply too risky.  My only outings were to visit my children or to church, on a good Sunday!

I was in my late twenties when I started having difficulties with my intestines.  The doctor felt that an infected uterus might be the cause and I had a
hysterectomy.

The problem did not go away and more issues began.  I was told I had loose bowel syndrome.  It was suggested that I avoid wheat and milk.  A year or so later, I was told I had a hernia.  I was told to avoid seeds.

Then I became more and more sick.  It took four years for them to diagnose fibromyalgia (then called fibromyositis). My own family doctor did not believe in FM and basically made me feel like a hypochondriac.  After all, I had great blood work, my blood pressure was fine, I had no cholesterol problems, so why was I complaining?!

So he prescribed Motrin to help cope with the pain of fibromyalgia. I had bladder problems, digestive problems and it all was always blamed on FM.

Then the problems with acid began and, twenty-five years ago, I started taking Losec.  It was then that my doctor mentioned the danger of Motrin (Ibuprofen) on the stomach. I immediately stopped taking them and decided to cope with my pain through prayers and meditation.

Prilosec also know a Losec

Prilosec also know a Losec

For the next ten to fifteen years, I took Losec.  My doctor retired and I went to a new doctor.  I told her about my stomach, which felt like it twisted and went into spasm when I made certain movements, so she prescribed
Domperidone for Motility.  It greatly helped.

But then my bladder problems became so bad that she sent me to a urologist who diagnosed Interstitial Cystitis and told me to avoid fresh fruits and raw vegetables.

The acid problem was no longer being controlled by the Losec so, a few years ago, I was switched to a few others but, none seem to help.  I was sent to see a G.I. who prescribed Prevacid and told me I had GERD.

I must say Prevacid seemed to control the acid but once I started taking them, I was catching every cold or bug around me.  My doctor suggested that I needed more sleep and because I was up 10 to 12 times a night to go to the
bathroom, so she prescribed Desmopressin Acetate Oral Disintegration (DDAVP MELT).

That made a difference to my sleep and I would wake up only once or twice a night.

I also suffer from a Vestibular disorder (inner ear problem) which gives me vertigo and nausea.  Nothing seems to help.  I caught the H1N1 flu in September and I was sick until early January.

That was my state, two weeks ago, when I decided to give your plan a try.

Within HOURS I felt better.  After two days, I took a long walk with my husband, which I had not done in months.  I had energy.  I quit taking the Prevacid and the Domperidone.

I cannot believe the difference this has made in my life. Last night I actually slept through the night without having to go to the bathroom.

I was out for four hours yesterday without searching for a public washroom.

I can stand wearing a bra and inches have gone around my stomach.  I have lost four # yet I am not hungry.  I am enjoying the fruits so much, as well as whole wheat again.

All of me feels better. I have taken long walks every two days since I started the plan.

I thank my daughter and son-in-law for answering my prayers, but most of all, I thank you for your book and your plan.  This book, along with the wallet size card, and the recipe book are my favourite reading material for now!

Bloating Remedies – Get Rid Of Your Toxins

Over time, there are all sorts of dangerous but common toxins that can build up in your body. They can be found in the foods you eat and in the products you use every day. When allowed to remain in the body and accumulate, they can end up causing a lot of damage. These toxins can cause all sorts of symptoms from digestive disorders, bloating, IBS, etc. to allergies and skin conditions.detox for stomach bloating

By understanding what they are and how to recognize them when you see them, it will be easier to avoid them in the future and decide whether a body detox is in order right now.

Here are some common toxins that may surprise you:

High fructose corn syrup, which is commonly found in soft drinks and other products containing sugar, is known to build up in the body over time. This is dangerous because it’s been found to force the body to age at a faster than normal rate. As a result, it can especially be harmful to the condition of your skin.

Monosodium glutamate, which is better known as MSG, is another common toxin. Commonly used as a flavoring in food, this material can impact the nervous system and promote allergies.

Soy is considered a healthy alternative for many people who need to avoid dairy products, but because most soy is heavily processed it can cause it to build up toxins in your digestive system. Further, soy can prevent calcium and Vitamin D from getting through your body and being processed properly. As a result, your bone strength may be compromised and put you at risk for fractures and other injuries. At toxic levels, soy can cause your body to suffer from fatigue.

The only soy that actually does the body a favor is whole fermented soy beans, like in miso or soy tempeh.

Talc is a toxin that can be absorbed into the body through inhalation while using cosmetic and baby powders. At too-high levels, talc can cause the body’s reproductive system to be inhibited.

Aspartame is commonly used as a sugar substitute in a number of products including many diet sodas. It easily can build up in the body. Excessive amounts can cause headaches in certain people.

Finally, hydrogenated oil – also known as trans fats – can be toxic to your body. These toxins do not easily break down and can cause clogging. In addition, allergies have been found to be promoted by this unhealthy type of oil as well.

Before you can start to build a healthy body it just makes sense to clean out the old garbage that is hindering your health.

Are You on Antibiotics And Have Stomach Bloating?

If you are on antibiotics read this now!

Genie suffered from diverticulitis and was one of the unlucky ones who had to have some of her colon removed.

But then a whole new problem came up. Here’s what she writes:

*******************
On September 9, 2009 I had 12 inches of my colon removed because of diverticulitis.

The surgery went well, but because of the antibiotics I was given I developed C. difficile bad bacteria. This is where the bad overthrow the good.

This is very hard to get rid of, and I had two relapses.

One day I was praying and I believe that God led me to an answer. I have been on probiotics for one month and have not had another relapse of this bacteria.

The doctor never told me about probiotics.

I am grateful to have found something that works.

Genie

Probiotic for stomach problems

Probiotic

*******************

While antibiotics have many beneficial uses, they have a dark side, and causing bad bacteria overgrowth is a big part of that dark side.

The overgrowth that Genie had was Clostridium difficile, often called C. difficile or “C. diff.”

Usually our bodies can fight off C. diff if we’re healthy. But if our bodies are low in beneficial bacteria (which is a result of taking antibiotics), then the harmful ones can easily take over.

The antibiotics that most often lead to C. diff are:fluoroquinolones, cephalosporins, clindamycin and penicillins.

Mild C. diff causes diarrhea and abdominal cramping, but the real concern is if the overgrowth continues and becomes severe–then it can become life-threatening.

Severe C. diff causes your colon to become inflamed (aka colitis) or to form patches of raw tissue that can bleed or produce pus (called pseudomembranous colitis).

Symptoms of severe C. diff include:

- Watery diarrhea 10 to 15 times a day
- Severe abdominal cramping and pain
- Fever
- Blood or pus in the stool
- Nausea
- Dehydration
- Loss of appetite

Severe C. diff can also lead to kidney failure, bowel perforation (a hole in your colon), a ruptured colon or even death.

Now here’s the kicker–the standard medical treatment for C. diff is:

MORE antibiotics.

The claim is that these antibiotics “work” by stopping C. diff growth.

But the problem is that they kill the beneficial bacteria in your gut, too.

As Genie mentioned, C. diff is very hard to get rid of. So once you get off the antibiotics, C. diff can easily come back…and you won’t have a good supply of beneficial bacteria to fight them off.

So you’ll be back where you started from–making sure there’s nothing in the path between you and the bathroom.

It can be a neverending cycle.

Genie learned how to combat C. diff overgrowth naturally, without harsh antibiotics that can make the problem even worse.

Bloating Causes – You Never Thought Of

More than anything else, it’s what you put in your mouth that determines your level of health.

It’s not genetics, not your neighborhood, not how much money you have, not even exercise (although all of these can play a role too).  Far and away, food is number one.

Let me tell you about Pam who had gone to the doctor last year because she was addicted to fast food and was always feeling bloated and out of sorts.

She couldn’t help herself.  She thought about Wendy’s, McDonald’s and KFC all the time.

She found herself going through the drive-thru several times each week, even for snacks.  She craved it late at night, and even if she resisted her craving and went to sleep, she would wake up thinking about it.

Pam’s a very intelligent woman (she’s an attorney) and logically knew that this food was horrible for her…but the addiction was overwhelming.

So she did what she thought was the right thing—went to her doctor for help.

And…can you guess?

Was given a prescription for Prozac (an anti-depressant).

Yet another of thousands of examples of dangerous, life- altering anti-depressants being handed out like candy.

Pam was smart enough to refuse it. Then she asked her doctor to look at a rash she had developed.  He said, ”It’s nothing.  But I still think you need Prozac.”

She walked out of his office without the drugs, but still feeling devastated and helpless against the tsunami-like power of fast food.

She just didn’t understand some facts about fast food.  Fast food creators are very skilled at making their food addicting and taste unbelievably good (thanks to the chemicals they use).  And not only is it addicting, but it’s grossly mis- combined and lacking in any nutritional value.

Pam finally decided to do something herself about her addictions and started doing research on how to change things around. Her results speak for themselves.

She began eating a different way
and saw immediate results.  As she learned to prepare and eat correctly combined, high-alkaline foods, she noticed her cravings for fast food were lessening.  She started having daily bowel movements (instead of 2-3 times per week).  She lost a much-needed 15 pounds and her energy went through the roof.  And her stomach bloating cleared up along with other digestive issues!
She no longer feels an urge for fast food.  She admitted that her daughter had come home recently with some leftover fries from McDonald’s, so she thought she’d just take one.  After all, she had been “good” for so long.

She spit it out because it tasted so bad.  Now that’s success!

Review Of Bloating Remedies – Great Taste No Pain

Pain Free In 1-Day

FREE Report reveals
What Your Doctor
Won’t Tell You About Digestive Pain!

More than 1 out of 3 adults in the US (70 million) take prescription pills for digestive disorders and pain associated with them. Chances are if you found this blog you are one of them.

A lot of people are frustrated with their health professionals, who have not been able to give them much relief. A big percentage of people STILL experience digestive problems even with all the meds they take. Some people resort to surgery or eating bland foods or they just continue to suffer.

That’s why the Great Taste No Pain System was developed — to help people finally find reflief from their digestive problems.
One of the primary components of the Great Taste No Pain System is the science of food combining, which was first introduced into the US in 1911 by Dr. William Hay, a New York surgeon who used it to cure his Bright’s Disease, a kidney disease which was often fatal at that time.
A basic knowledge of Junior High chemistry is all it takes to see the logic behind this science: Mixing foods that require alkaline digestive enzymes with foods that require acid digestive enzymes slows and can even stop the digestive process. It can and does delay digestion by as much as 10 hours and more. This is incredibly bad for the body. The Great Taste No Pain system alleviates this problem, speeding food through your body, allowing it to absorb nutrients from foods at a much higher level.

In addition, one of the manuals in the Great Taste No Pain system, ‘Foods That Create Acid, Foods That Take It Away,’ is as clear as I’ve ever seen this data presented. Follow this simple guide and your body will use a minimum of energy in the digestion process, which leaves more energy for healing and other daily functions your body carries out.

Great Taste No Pain author, Sherry Brescia, was a former Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) sufferer herself. In fact, in 1991, she spent 7 days in the hospital with bacterial colitis.

As a health insurance researcher and Chief Underwriter, she was able to research the benefits of an alkaline- balanced body and over the next 15 years perfected the system she now calls Great Taste No Pain.

Top 3 Causes of Stomach Bloating

Millions of people suffer from the uncomfortable and sometimes downright painful stomach bloating problems. For most people there are some common denominators that cause frequent stomach bloating problems. Here are the top 3 causes.

  1. Eating foods your body has an intolerance for, such as gluten in flour products or lactose intolerance in dairy products.
  2. Eating wrong food combinations.  I will explain this in another post.
  3. Digestion problems due to candida overgrowth. More people have this than know it.
  4. I will briefly explain on what I’ve outlined above.

Most people with digestive issues like stomach bloating don’t know that they are having problems digesting certain foods. The foods causing many people these issues are wheat and dairy. Many people have a missing enzyme that helps digest the lactose sugars in dairy or the wheat gluten in wheat. The best thing to do if you suspect these may be causing some issues for you is to cut one of the out of your diet for a few days to see what happens.

To understand why wrong food combinations may cause bloating, you need to realize that all foods do not digest at the same rate. In other words, foods such as fruits digest much faster than, let’s say rice or beans. If you throw fruits into your stomach with foods that take a lot longer to digest, you may experience some stomach bloating or digestive issues.

Candida overgrowth affects millions of people without their realizing that it’s the root cause of their digestive issues.

Here’s an in depth review and explanation of stomach bloating and other digestive problems.

Is Your Stomach Bloating From Enzyme or Gastric Acid Insufficiency?

There are two functional causes of indigestion and stomach bloating that need to be talked about in more detail. Your problems can stem from either a lack of enzymes or a lack of proper gastric acid. Here’s a good way to know which one you may be deficient in.

If you have heartburn, abdominal bloating, stomach discomfort and gas that occur within the first 15 to 30 minutes after you eat, the cause is likely low gastric acid secretions. If these affects happen after 45 minutes, the cause could be a lack of sufficient enzymes.

Gastric stomach acid or hydrochloric acid (HCL), can be taken as a supplement at mealtime. Begin slowly with about 600 mg. at one of your large meals. If it does not aggravate your symptoms, take 2 at the next large meal and so on until you feel a warmth in your stomach. At that point you know you can back off one tablet and know that whatever dose your at, will be correct for you. Of course take smaller doses at smaller meals.

You can also try digestive enzymes. These actually help a lot of people since most foods we eat are cooked and the enzymes are destroyed at any temperture over 120 degrees. Digestive enzymes are best taken from multi-enzyme vegetarian sources. Look for supplements that contain bomelain and papaya these are protein digesting enzymes. Follow the label for correct dosage.

Colon Cleansing For Stomach Bloating?

10 Days To New You
Colon cleansing can be beneficial if you suffer from stomach bloating and other issues with the digestive system, especially if you are 45 or older. Some people find great relief using some natural products to help cleanse the body of toxins. Drinking plenty of water and eating fruits and vegetables is very beneficial for the cleansing process, it will show in your skin and you will feel the difference.

Try not to eat food before going to bed. It’s really best not to eat anything after 6 or 7 pm in the evening. It just makes sense because your digestive system is winding down for the day. This is also a tip that will help you lose weight.

Alcohol must be avoided when cleansing. Also try not to drink too much coffee. Herbal teas help clears the body of toxins so are a good substitute. Eating a breakfast with plenty of fiber in the morning with a cup of herbal tea helps the cleansing process. Here’s a delicious muffin recipe that has fiber and other things that helps sweep gunk out of your colon:

1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/3 cup honey
½ cup brown sugar
2 eggs

Lactose Intolerance – One Cause of Stomach Bloating?

Digest Milk With Lactase Enzyme
Stomach bloating may occur due to many factors. One of them is indigestion of many biological molecules in the body such as protein, lipids and even carbohydrates. Carbohydrates are sugar in nature, just like lactose. If a person experience indigestion, stomach bloating will likely occur if  lactose is not properly digested and absorbed in the stomach.

Lactose is a sugar molecule composed of two sugar units, glucose and galactose. This sugar is commonly found in milk and should be broken down to simpler sugar units in order to be absorbed in the cell’s surface with the help of an enzyme called lactase. However, there are people who were unable to absorb lactose due to the absence of lactase enzyme. This enzyme is the one responsible to split up the lactose molecule to glucose and galactose sugars units.

The following reasons are mostly the cause of the absence of lactase in the GIT cells.

1. Disease. Celiac sprue is a condition that destroys lactase enzymes present in the intestinal lining when the immunologic reaction occurs due to undigested food allergy in the colon.

2. Gene mutation. This is a congenital disease where the gene responsible for producing lactase has mutated and can no longer produce lactase enzyme to help the digestion of lactose sugar.

3. Decrease amount of lactase. This happens during childhood and may continue to the adult stage. This condition is known as hypolactasia. Due to the absence of lactase in the stomach lining, this may lead to some conditions, such as nausea, intestinal cramps, diarrhea, gas pain and most especially stomach bloating.
